Investment

Photo sessions start at $200 which include the session time and talent only. Digital images, prints and boutique items are sold separately.

I fully believe that it is my job to bring you images that you want to buy and bring into your home. These portrait images are an investment, not something that will last a few months like a cute top, or a few years like a car, they are meant to last a lifetime, something you can pass down to your children and grandchildren. Portrait sessions are often from an important stage in life, or sometimes just because. But I always remind myself, I can’t get time back but I can sure capture special memories.

8×10 prints start at $45.

The average client spends between $750-$1,500.

Custom photography, what it’s worth.

What is custom photography and why is it so expensive? A custom photographer is an artist who will take images that will last a lifetime, give you 1 on 1 time and ensure you get quality, memories and most importantly art.

Why is it so expensive?

Think of custom photography as fine pieces of jewelry. They are items and precious pieces that will last a lifetime, unlike that cute top you bought that lasts a year, or that pedicure that lasts two weeks. These images will be cherished, displayed in the home, gifted to family members and passed down to generations to come.

Here is a break down of what goes into delivering these images to you…

  • Booking time- Average of 30 minutes to 1 hour (client communication and paperwork)
  • Pre session prep time – 30 minutes (Equipment ready, back up checks)
  • Travel time to session – 30 minutes to 1 hour  (leaving time to scout location)
  • Prep on location – 15 minute set up
  • Shooting – 1 to 2 hours
  • Travel time from session – 30 minutes to 1 hour
  • Uploads – 30 to 45 minutes uploading images
  • Backups – 30 to 45 minutes backing up images
  • Editing time- 4-6 hours editing images to deliver clients with a gallery of art
  • Order prep – 30 minutes
  • Order time – 2 hours ordering with client
  • Actual order – 1 hour ordering and checking, double checking and triple checking order
  • Prep for delivery – 1 hour- checking order, packaging order
  • Delivery – 30 minutes to 1 hour delivery – Via UPS or personal drops
  • Any additional time the clients need

This is the average time and effort that gets put in to just one of my sessions. Every session will receive the same quality, effort and time from me. When you add all the time up for a session it ends up being 13-19 hours. My $200 session fee, is not just covering the  1 – 2 hour shooting time, this is paying for the entire time it takes me to complete your order.

The cost of equipment and running a business is high.  Once you have paid for these high quality images, it pains me to see them printed by Walgreens. I promise you, they do not look the same! The labs that I use for portrait prints, canvases, albums and products, ensure that they look exactly as they do on my monitor.  In the next few weeks I will analyze how much a difference can be in made by the some of the most popular consumer labs. We will compare Target, Cost-Co, Shutterfly, Walgreens and of course my lab!
